Raimondas Sviackevicius graduated with an MA from the Lithuanian Academy of Music in 1999 (under Assoc. Prof. Zita Abromaviciute); in 1998-1999 he studied at the Academy of Music in Lodz (Poland), with the accordionist and composer, Prof. Bogdan Dowlasz; in 1999-2000 he attended the Sibelius Music Academy in Helsinki (Finland), under Prof. Matti Rantanen; in 1999-2001 he attended post-graduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague (Holland), under prof. Friedrich Lips (Russia) and Johan De With (Holland).
Raimondas Sviackevicius is laureate of many accordion competitions in Lithuania (in 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994). In 1996, he participated at the international "Citta di Castelfidardo" accordion competition in Italy, where he won 1st prize in the duo category. In 1998, at the same competition, he won 3rd prize in the solo category. In 1999, he won 2nd prize in the solo category at the international "Pianello Val Tidone" music competition. In August 1999, he won 1st prize, as well as the special prize for best performance of a competition compulsory piece, at the 8th international "Premio Internazionale per fisarmonica Stefano Bizzarri" accordion competition. He was first prize winner, in the summer of 2000, at the 9th international
"Premio Internazionale Stefano Bizzarri" accordion competition, where he also received the "Golden Lyre" award.

The young performer has played as a soloist with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra (conductor
Robertas Servenikas), and with the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra (artistic director Donatas Katkus, conductor Stefan Fraas (Germany)), and has given recitals and prepared original programmes for the "Sugrimai" (2001) festival, the St. Christopher Summer Festival (2003, 2004),"Druskomanija"(2004) and the
"Gaida" (2004), Jauna muzika"(2005) festival. He plays as a soloist as well as chamber music with other instruments, he is the member of contemporary music ensemble "Gaida".

In 2004 he released his solo CD entitled "A Farewell to arms" after N.Valanciute's work written for him.
Raimondas Sviackevicius attends international master classes, seminars and festivals, performed with great success in Germany, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Holland, Austria, USA and Russia, and has juried for the following national and international competitions: "A.Krzanowski International Competition" (Poland), "Val Tidone International Music Competitions" and "International Stefano Bizzarri Accordion Prize" (Italy), "Coupe Mondiale" (Slovak Republic and Hungary).
The musician also teaches at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and at the Vilnius Karoliniskiu Music School.
